Dylan's 1st day of Pre-K

The day has finally come! My firstborn went to school! We had a great morning getting to school. It was a little difficult getting Dylan up because he woke up early and then finally went back to sleep around 5 am. Once we got him going though, he did great. He walked right into his classroom and was ready to get started! I admit that I didn't cry! It was hard for me to let him stay by himself, but I knew he was in good hands! When I picked him up, I tried asking him about his day, but he didn't want to share a whole lot! He did say that he met a new friend! All he was concerned about was getting to play in the learning center. :) He's ready to go back for another day. It's just so hard to believe that he is going to school now. I guess I knew it was coming, but I didn't realize that it would affect mommy so much!!!

10 years together

10 years ago today at 5:00 pm, I married my best friend and the love of my life! These have been the happiest and most blessed 10 years! Not only did God give me my soul mate and husband but he gave Todd and I two little boys that are the joys of our lives!

In these past 10 years, we have lived in College Station for 1 year, Denver, CO, for 2 years and Denver City for the past 7 years. We have bought 2 houses, had 2 dogs and grieved the loss of one of them, and have been blessed with the birth of 2 boys. Wow...time has flown by!

I love you Todd so very much! You are everything I could have asked for in a mate! You are a Christian husband and dad and I'm so greatful for that. You are the best dad in the world to our boys and one of these days I hope my boys are as good of dads to their children as you were to them.

Derek at 16 months

My little boy turned 16 months today! Everytime I look at our little boy, I just thank God for blessing him into our lives!

Here is what our little Derek is up to these days:

First and foremost...this kid LOVES to eat! He is waiting for every meal! If I'd let him he would eat all day long. His favorite food is strawberries. He gobbles them up! He's so hiliarious because he'll be begging for more food, so we'll give him more and then we discover he's got a stash of it inside his cheeks. He's a little chipmunk! He really likes milk...not as much as Dylan does...and he likes it cold. We made sure that we didn't start him on warm milk like his brother.

He is everywhere now!! Since he became mobile on his feet, he's so much more curious than Dylan ever was. We're really going to have to keep an eye out on this one! Because he is so much more mobile, he gets into big brother's toys. Sometimes Dylan lets him play with his things, and sometimes he gets angry. I think that's been the hardest thing for Dylan to adjust to.

Let's see...favorite toys. He definitely loves balls of all sorts! He will walk around pointing and saying, "ball...ball...". He also really loves his bat. His bat can get him into trouble though. At Ms. Keri's, the bat had to go into timeout. He was hitting kids with it! We want to laugh about it, but that bat hurts. He's constantly hitting Dylan on the head, which of course Dylan doesn't like. He is a very loving child. He'll find a stuffed animal and hold it and love it. It's so cute!!

He is a DADDY'S BOY!! Ugh...it drives me crazy!! When he sees his daddy, I suddenly don't exist. Todd can come home for lunch, and Derek wants to be in his arms the entire time. He's definitely got the word, "Dadda", down for sure!!

Words he can say:
dadda, mamma, papa, ball, tickle tickle, night night, bye bye, dog, whoa, and a whole lot of jibberish! Oh, he really knows how to use the word no. I wonder where he got that from?

Other things he love:
He loves to tackle whomever is on the floor. When daddy and Dylan get on the floor and tackle, he is right there with them. He loves to go outside and play. He loves to be with Dylan and TRY to play with his toys. On tv, he loves Special Agent Oso, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Barney. He loves when I sing to him, especially "Take me out to the Ballgame". He loves to sit in his room and look at his books. It's so cute to see him doing this. He loves to get the phone and mash buttons and he really enjoys talking on the phone!

As relaxed and easy going as our little Derek is, he has a little temper. If you take something away from him or something you do upsets him, he likes to find the nearest object and throw it. It's so weird to us that a little boy who has a laid back personality, can easily throw a fit.

He's got a mouthful of teeth, He has 4 on top, 4 on bottom, and two molors on bottom and 1 on top. It sure has made eating more flexible for him.

Our little Derek is turning into quite a little toddler. I tickle him just so I can hear him laugh. His laughter is joy to my ears. He brings so much excitement and love to our lives! We love you Derek Cole!

A sad departure...

I had to say goodbye to my boys today for 6 days. I was not looking forward to that. Margie and David left with them from San Antonio and are going back home. I got teary eyed saying bye to Derek but I really started the tears rolling when I said bye to Dylan. Then that got him started crying. I had to assure him that nothing was wrong. Momma was just sad b/c she was going to miss him. I just couldn't get enough kisses and hugs from my boys.

I know they are in great hands while we are away but I just worry that something might happen to Todd and I. I guess that is just being a parent! I will be ready to share Mexico with them when they are older.

We fly out tomorrow for Mexico with Natalie and Mitch. So ready for the resort!

Family Vacation

,What a wonderful day we had today at Seaworld. Even with the kids being young I could see it in their eyes how excited they were! I got a little tear eyed during the Sham show just knowing that my kids were experiencingsomething that I did as a child.

Dylan could not wait to get there! His eyes just lit up when we got there. We watched the Shamu show. After the show ended we took Dylan to the Harbor so he could cool down. Derek even enjoyed the water. Todd, Dylan, and I went on a private tour to see and pet some animals. We were able to pet small stingrays and feed them. I was really surprised that Dylan wanted to feel them. He really shocked me when he wanted to feed them! He and I pet a little nurse shark. It was lot of fun! He even got to ride on his first logride with meme and me. Derek on the other hand enjoyed napping,Sham, eating, the dolphins, eating, and more napping. Oh and he loved his stuffed penguin!

We didn't get to everything but we were pretty pooped! We had a memorable vacation with Todd's family that we'll never forget!

Derek finally decided that tonight he would walk to his daddy! He took 4 to 5 good steps and did it several times because of course momma had to get it on video and on the camera! He's a little late bloomer on his walking so we're just so excited that he's taking steps! Or....are we going to be dreading it later? :)

Mother's Day

This was my 5th Mother's Day and I have to say it gets better and better each year! The love for my boys is indescribeable and I can't even imagine not being a mother! Thank you God for giving me the gift of children!

We had a very relaxing and unusual day today. All of us caught some sort of bug this weekend. We went to Lubbock yesterday and last night when Dylan was in the bathtub, he started throwing up. I was able to get him out and to the toilet but poor thing really got sick. He was perfectly fine after that. Very weird! Todd and I also woke up with irritated stomachs. We went to Sunday School but then came home and all of us got naps. Todd and the boys gave me a beautiful necklace and ring but Dylan signing his name on my card made the day just perfect! Dylan even painted me a cup in Sunday School that I am suppose to plant flowers in. He was so proud of it! We spent today with just the 4 of us. My parents were seeing my brother and Todd's parents were in Midland. We really needed the rest! I just wish it didn't come with the sickness!

Pre-K registration

I registered Dylan today for Pre-K! Boo Hoo Hoo!! That means he's growing up! It's hard to believe that he'll be coming with me to school next year.

Easter Sunday

Thank you God for a wonderful Easter Sunday with praising you, good weather, and wonderful time with family!

We had a really good Easter Sunday! Todd's parents came down and we all went to church together. My mom fixed a wonderful pot roast meal. Dylan was able to hunt Easter eggs in my parents backyard on a nice day without too much wind. He was even able to crack some cascarones on his grandpas and parents heads!! Ask Papa and Poppy how much it hurt! :) Derek opted to take his nap instead! So, Dylan got the eggs all to himself!

And to finish the day, we went to the Community Easter sing at another church. At the end of the service, Dylan asked my dad why did Jesus die on the cross! What a wonderful Easter Sunday!

Wellness Checkups

We took the boys to Lubbock for their 4 year and 1 year checkup. Dylan is 34.6 lbs and 39 1/2 inches long. He had a hearing test and did well...despite an ear infection in his right ear. He also had a vision test and scored 20/30 in his eyes which the doctor said is good for his age. He enjoyed listening to his heart beat and helping Dr. Rogers blow out in the light in her instrument. He just boo hooed when they had to give him 3 shots. That hurt Momma pretty bad too! :(

Derek is 24.4 lbs & 29.5 inches long. He also had an ear infection. Even after 10 days of antibiotics, he still had a bad one in his right ear. He showed off for Dr. Rogers and definitely didn't like it when Nurse Dana gave him 4 shots. I had to hold him down and that just hurt my heart so much to see tears coming out of his eyes! So, Todd and I had a double whammy with both boys getting their shots.

As you can see from the picture, Derek was completely out about 2 hours after his appointment!

Teeball man!

Today was a day that Todd has been dreaming of for a very long time! His son signed up for t-ball! I can't believe the day finally came. And yes...daddy is going to coach!! Since it was a pretty afternoon, my guys were out taking a walk when I came home. After 2 times around the neighborhood, Dylan was pretty tuckered out. So, they ventured out into the backyard and started hitting the ball. Dylan was finished with that after a couple of hits, but Todd then decided to make it a game., So....they put Raider's ball up on the tee and let Dylan hit the ball so Raider could go catch it. Since it was for a reason, Dylan pounded that ball! Pretty amazing hits for a 4 year old! I just hope that daddy and Dylan can come home from t-ball practice happy!

Spring Break Fun

About 2 weeks ago I thought that our Spring Break was going to consist of relaxing and cleaning. Then, Todd asked me if we wanted to go with him on a business trip to Austin. It didn't take me long to say yes! When I told Dylan that he was going to get to stay in a hotel, go swimming, and fly on an airplane, he said, "Oh boy!" I love it when he still says that! I was a little worried about traveling with Derek on the airplane b/c of his ears. His pediatrician gave him some antibiotics to treat his red eardrum. He did awesome! He never cried or complained. We really tried to get him to drink out of his cup or suck his thumb as we took off.

We kind of packed a little too much. I guess when I was packing, I wasn't really thinking about us flying. We had to take 2 car seats, 2 big suitcases, Todd's computer, a little bed for Derek and 2 carry on bags. It was definitely a load full! It looked like we were going to be gone for an entire week. I had to be prepared though! It was even worse coming back because I had gone shopping!! Now I know why we drive.

We got to stay at the Embassy Suites in Austin. It was absolutely beautiful! Dylan loved looking at the coy fish in the pond. The swimming pool was heated and big and Dylan just boo hooed when he had to get out on the last night there. While Todd was in his meetings, the boys and I went to breakfast, went swimming, and shopped. I literally wore my boys out shopping! Dylan fell asleep in the car before I even backed the car out. It was a wonderful spring break. It was a little hard with Todd being gone all day but we had fun. I got to visit with my college roommate Natalie and her husband and kids. Dylan absolutely loves playing with her 3 kids.

I realized how much fun we will have with our boys in the years to come!

Fun with Cousin Andy

Brandon, Mandy and my adorable nephew Andy came down for Derek's birthday party. I was so glad that they came! Derek and Andy are only a little less than 3 months apart so it's so fun watching them grow and play together. They especially had a great time taking a bath together. I think they both agreed that was the best bathtime ever!

Derek's 1st Birthday Party

We had Derek's 1st birthday party on Saturday, 13th. Wow...we had a lot of people at our house!! I couldn't believe we fit around 30 people in our house. We went all out for Dylan's 1st birthday so of course we had to do the same for our little Derek! It was a very happy occasion and I'll remember it always!!

Of course the highlight of the day came when Derek attacked his cake! That's right...he literally attacked his cake. He picked up the actual cake with his hands...not the cardboard it was on and was prepared to eat the entire thing! It took him awhile to realize that chocolate was something that he could like and maybe he wasn't suppose to dive in with his hands. Todd had to help him stick his fingers into the cake. After that...there was no going back. He loved his cake!!! I tried to take him out several times b/c I thought he was done and he let me know with several outburst cries! You would have thought I was hurting my child. But all he wanted to do was finish his cake!! If anyone should know not to take a chocolate cake from someone it's me!!! Papa quickly rushed him to the bathtub and he got a quick rinsing off. Of course with all that sugar one would think that he would never take a nap; however, the birthday boy slept for around 3 hours!

Thank you to all that helped us celebrate a year with our precious Derek! We thank God for him everyday!

Our little Derek turned 1 today! Wow...how this past year has flown by! He has grown up so fast right before our eyes! He truly is a blessing from God and I can't imagine our lives without him!

Let's see...right now our Derek Cole is saying "dadda" alot! He says "mama" but not as much as "dadda". He goes nuts when he sees Todd or I. Of course, that just lights up our faces! He started crawling today! Woo Hoo! I was getting a little worried. Dylan started when he was 10 months old. Derek was army crawling for about a week and would take very few movements with his knees. Today he discovered that he could go far with his knees! He has 6 teeth. One just appeared last Sunday. He now has 4 on top and 2 on the bottom. This child LOVES to eat! Definitely more of an eater than Dylan ever was. On another exciting note, he tried whole milk today with his formula. He wasn't so sure of it but he's getting use to it. I'm so excited that we can stop buying formula!

Our lives has definitely changed since Derek came into them! He is the happiest most relaxed baby that I know! I couldn't ask for two better children!

Dylan's 1st teeth cleaning

Dylan and I went to go get our teeth cleaned today. I wasn't sure how he would do. He did so awesome! He climbed right up into the chair and let Lesia clean away! I couldn't believe how well he did. It just amazed me that I was watching my 3 year old get his teeth cleaned. He's growing up right before my eyes! After he was done, Ms. Stephanie gave him a coin and let him get a bouncy ball out of the machine. Then he sat on a stool and watched cartoons with headphones while I got mine cleaned. And again, he did awesome waiting for me! What a memorable 1st trip to get his teeth cleaned! Lesia said his teeth looked good and healthy!

6 months old

I can't believe it! Time flies when you're having fun! Derek has his 6 month appt next week so I'll fill you in on his heighth and weight.

He continues to be an easy going little boy. We know that when he's crying, there must be something wrong. He goes down at night at 8 pm and usually wakes up the next morning around 6:45. It is so nice to have him go down early and sleep through the night. It's been a week since I've stopped nursing. I cried alot because it was hard for me to let go so soon. I felt like I was depriving him. He was a week short of being 6 months and Dylan was 7 months when I stopped with him and he turned out just fine! But, I don't know if I didn't want to stop b/c Derek might be the last baby and that makes me sad or what? But, it was a very hard decision and I kept trying to hold on as long as I could. I just couldn't keep nursing during the day b/c starting back to school was too hectic. So, I was just nursing in the morning and at night. I don't think he was getting enough milk at night b/c he would want more after nursing. It is easier to leave him with Todd or his grandparents. As of last week, he started sitting up. I still can't believe it when I look at him sitting up. Last night, he rolled over for the first time! Yeah!!! We couldn't get him to do it again though. Derek still lights up everytime he sees his brother. Dylan is wonderful with him!!! I couldn't have asked for a better big brother!!

I'm thankful everyday for my sweet baby boy. I can't imagine my life without him and Dylan.

Derek is sitting by himself

yes, Derek reached another milestone! He's been almost there for several weeks, but he just kept tipping over. He's still a little wobbly, but he pretty much sits up by himself.

On another note, Dylan's newest saying is, "Okay Okay...don't worry about it!" He is something else! :)

Back to School

I realized that I haven't kept all of you updated on the boys. Well, we started back to school and I think that Dylan was ready to go back to Ms. Keri's. He was ready to be back with all of his friends. He will start going to a preschool on September 10th at the Methodist Church on Tuesday/Thursday from 8:30 - 2:30. I'm really excited about him going because he will meet some new friends and he will have a good friend of mine, Ms. Angela, as his teacher. He'll still go to Ms. Keri's on the other days. His 3 girlfriends, Audrey, Kate, and Maddy, all go to Pre-K in the mornings and he misses them so much! He wants to go to school with them so badly.

Our little Derek is growing like crazy! He is such a wonderful blessing in our lives. I can't imagine life without him. He smiles so big and those blue eyes just melt your heart. He turns 6 months on the 9th of Sept. and we go back to the pediatrician in a couple of weeks. He loves his big brother and his big brother loves him too! I think Dylan is so ready for Derek to play with him. Derek's face just lights up when he sees Dylan.

I just finished my first week of school and it was a pretty good week. I really do like my class and I think we're going to have a great year. I've started a workout class 2 days of week to get some exercise. It's after school. Todd watches the kids for me. It's good to go exercise again. I did my first class last Monday and I thought I was going to die. The DVD's we do are called Insanity, and it speaks for itself. It is really is insane!! I feel so good after I do it!

Todd is still mowing lawns. Probably another month or so. He's also exercising again. He started doing a workout called P90X in the mornings at 5:15. He does it with 2 other guys. He is an amazing dad and husband. He wrestles every night with Dylan and they have so much fun together. You can tell that Derek can't wait to play with them.

I'll try to keep current with my postings. It's a little more busier now but I'll try!

We enjoyed a day of swimming at Todd's parents. Dylan of course gets better and better each time he swims and is a little fish. I'm so proud of him for the determination to swim. We lathered our little Derek with plenty of sunscreen and got him in the pool. His skin is so much fairer than Dylan's. It didn't take him long until he got relaxed and passed out in the pool. It was just too cute!

Happy Birthday Gran!

This past weekend, we celebrated my Gran's 80th birthday. Her birthday was actually on the 10th, but we all were able to get together in Tulia this past weekend. The whole family was able to come and we had a wonderful time! I never get to see my cousins and aunt and uncle, so this was a great weekend. My dad also had his 40th HS class reunion so we were pretty busy.

On the 9th, we took Derek in for his 4 month checkup and shots. Mom and I thought Derek would easily be 20 lbs. Thank goodness we were wrong! He was 17 lbs 10 oz and he's in the 95% in his weighth! I can't remember his heighth but he's in the 75% percentile. The doctor said it was okay to start on cereal. So that night, we started cereal. Derek didn't quite know what to think about it. He gave us this really confused look on his face as he's spitting the cereal out. His tummy liked it too, b/c he has started sleeping through the night since starting cereal. After 2 weeks of it, he's getting to where he likes it a lot more. I told him to hang on b/c soon I could spice it up with some yummy fruit! So after 2 weeks of cereal, I started peas on Tuesday night. He opened up really wide for that! He likes flavor to his meals! Hey...I don't blame!

He's still such a wonderful and happy baby! I think his chunkiness makes him that much cuter!

Last weekend, we took the boys to Critterfest in Lubbock. It rained all the way to Lubbock and I wondered how that would affect the shows. We spent the majority of the time inside and then when the rain cleared, we went outside to feed the goats and elephant. Dylan loved feeding the animals. He had absolutely no fear! Against my discretion, Todd dragged us to the snake show. I made sure we sat in the very back. Luckily, all they showed were little snakes but they still gave me the heebie jeebies! Dylan wanted to see every snake so I would let him go to the outside aisles. However, he wasn't real sure about touching them. We also let Dylan explore the Science Spectrum and play in the kids area. Derek of course spent most of his time either looking around or sleeping! We left just in time b/c there was a huge crowd by midafternoon. Dylan was not wanting to leave. He was asleep before we even left the parking lot! It was alot of fun and I'm sure we'll do it again next year.

Brotherly Love

I was sitting in the living room folding clothes and I could hear Dylan talking to Derek but then all of a sudden I could hear Derek laughing. It was the cutest sound! I ran to go get my video camera and of course it was out of battery. That figures! So, I ran to get my regular camera and I was able get Dylan to still keep Derek laughing. Dylan is such a sweet big brother. He's really starting to enjoy his little bro and I think he thought it was pretty cool that he could make him laugh.

Dylan decided this past week at the hotel that he wanted to swim without his floaties. I guess you could say he is swimming now on his own! He did so good! He still needs a lot of practice but he could swim from me to Todd without his floaties. He sure does have alot of determination b/c he wouldn't stop until he got it down! He kept saying, "I want to learn how to swim!"

I finally have a little nephew! His name is Andrew Earl Cox. He was born on June 2nd and is doing well. He's just too adorable and blonde as he can be! Mandy is doing really good. I think I'm going to be Aunt Casey b/c my name is just too hard for kids to say! I'm really proud of Mandy and Brandon and I know they're going to be wonderful parents! I really enjoyed watching Brandon be a great dad and taking care of Mandy!

Look at this sweet little chunky boy! He's just so adorable and I love to just pinch those cheeks. He is such a wonderful baby! I thought Dylan was easy but he's even easier. Time has just flown by b/c he'll be 3 months old on Tuesday. Dylan really does love his baby brother. He always wants to kiss him and talk to him. 5 days and counting!!

I can't believe I haven't blogged since Dylan's birthday! To be honest, I get home and want to do NOTHING! I'm so far behind in my scrapbooking that I'll have to catch up when the baby comes. Well, today is my birthday and I'm feeling a little different. Dylan told me his little brother was coming today! I feel a little more pressure than normal and I'm walking extremely slow through the school halls. I told the kids the best present they could give me today was to be understanding and quiet for me! Yeah right! Todd is out of town on a softball tournament 2 hours away so that makes me a little uneasy as well. So, I prayed this morning that God would watch over me and protect me!

I'm going in Monday morning at 5:30 am to get ready for my c-section and the doctor said she hopes to have a baby by 8:30 am!! Please pray for me! I've been through the surgery before but I'm still a little nervous!

I can't believe my baby is 3 today! We sang to him this morning and I think he was confused all day because he thought his birthday was on Sunday, when we had his party! Today, he got cupcakes at Ms. Keri's and a new fire truck! It was such a beautiful day today that when Dylan and I got home, Todd thought we should take a walk and let Dylan ride his car. I thought it would be a nice leisurely walk and it ended up being a sprint trying to keep up with Dylan! It was very nice though getting out with my son and husband and enjoying a walk.

Here is me and my sister-in-law, Mandy, with our baby bumps. Hers is more of a bump...mine is more of a really big belly! She is due at the end of May, and my due date is of course March 11th. I had my 28 week appointment last week. We first went in to get the ultrasound done. Dylan went with us and got to see the baby on the screen. It was very special to have my son and husband with me. The doctor said that the baby is about 2 pounds and everything looks very good. That is such a relief to hear! The baby was moving around quite a bit and had a great heartbeat. He is however breeched at this time. That explains the lower pain that I feel sometimes when he's kicking. I don't remember Dylan kicking me like that.

We then went to see my doctor. I had to take my glucose test and I haven't had a call back. Thank goodness! I was so nervous about that since it was right before Christmas and I'm all about sweets and candy at Christmas! My doctor was pleased with everything. We went ahead and set the date for March 2nd. That's just to get it on the calendar. We can however change it if we need to. So, about 9 or 10 weeks to go!

Christmas

Well, we had a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! We went to the Christmas Eve service at Stonegate Baptist Church in Midland. It was a wonderful service and Dylan behaved wonderful! At the end, we all stood up and sang Christmas carols and he was trying to sing them with us. It was so cute! We then went looking at Christmas lights and he thoroughly enjoyed that. He would say, "Wow...look at all those Christmas lights. There's red ones, and green ones, and white ones!" I always loved going to look at Christmas lights as a kid. We would go driving in our pj's and see all of the lights. I'm so glad to carry on a tradition with Dylan. We got in from looking at lights, and we were all so hungry. My father-in-law had made the traditional sausage and cheese dip and that was gone pretty quickly. I watched Home Alone with Todd's cousin,Jordan, while the others played games. It was then time for bedtime. We got Dylan in his pj's and then came into the living room to get the milk and cookies for Santa. We then talked about Santa and how he comes into the house. It was sooo cute! We told him that Santa wouldn't come until he was asleep and he bolted to his room! He was out within 30 minutes!

I got up to go to the bathroom around 5 am (imagine that). I couldn't go back to sleep in anticipation of Dylan waking up. Todd heard the door to Dylan's room open shortly after that, and Todd jumped out of bed b/c he thought it might be Dylan. We didn't want him going into the living room without us. It wasn't Dylan. Just Addison, (Todd's cousin). We kept waiting for Dylan to wake up and around 6:45 am, we finally went in to check on him and Todd found him taking his pants off wanting to go to the bathroom. Yeah...he wants to go potty after he wakes up!! So, we all got our cameras out and followed him into the living room and you should have seen his eyes when he found his gift from Santa.

He had so much fun opening up his gifts. We got him a ton of matchbox cars from the movie Cars and he was as happy as he could be. Go figure....a little boy is happy with a ton of cars! We had a wonderful Christmas. We took Dylan out in the freezing cold to try out his new car. Seeing Dylan's face when he opens his presents means more to me than anything that I could ever get!

1. Where did you meet? We were high school sweethearts? Aawwww....
2. How long did you date before you got married? Well, we dated 2 years in high school and then broke up when we went off to college. Then, we got back together my senior year in college. After we got back together, we dated 11 months. We both just knew!

11. What is your favorite thing to do as a couple? We've got several. Go to the movies, snow ski, and barbeque.
12. Do you have any children? Yes, we have Dylan and baby on the way.

This is the sweater that my precious sister-in-law got Dylan last winter and he's just now getting to wear it. So, I had to take a picture of him in it so his Aunt Mandy could see how handsome he is!

Worn Out!

Todd and I just had to take these pics of Dylan. This was taken right after we got home from church. He was watching tv in his playroom and just couldn't stay awake any longer. He, of course, is an early bird, and woke up early that morning. Sometimes, he takes a little 30 min nap before we go to church but he didn't this day. So after playing like crazy at church, he was worn out! He fell asleep with his cup in his mouth which was the cutest part of it!

My son has developed an infatuation with the movie Cars. We bought him the Shake n Go cars at Walmart without him ever seeing the movie. He just wanted them b/c they made sound. We never knew that would turn into a huge hit with him!! He played with them but not just a whole lot. Well, about a month ago, I told Todd that we needed to let him watch the movie b/c he might like it. Ever since then, he watches it all of the time!! He calls it his Speed DVD. He constantly plays with his cars and he watches the movie all the time. Gone are the days of The Wiggles, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Imagination Movers! So, this Christmas, shopping has been super easy!! We just find anything Cars related and it's in the basket! It's really cute b/c he's turned into a little boy playing with cars ALL the time!

Haygin' Out

Last weekend we took Dylan to the Cornfield Maze outside of Dylan. I have been wanting to do this with Dylan since last year and I thought this was the perfect time since we were in Midland and didn't have any other plans. Besides, I sold my Tech tickets to the UT game so that I could take him. I know, I know...some might think I'm crazy! Anyways, we had a great time with Meme and Poppy. I'm glad we went early b/c it was getting hot! Todd, Dylan, and Meme rode the cow train. Todd and Meme were quite uncomfortable b/c they were sitting on a 2x4 and their legs were squished together. We then loaded up in the trailer and went on a hayride. They took us to a pumpkin patch that had been pretty picked over but Dylan managed to find him a pumpkin. If the kids could carry the pumpkin, then they got to keep it. It was a little heavy for him, but he did manage to carry it. The highlight of our trip though was when he got to shoot the corn cannon. Because we had so many tokens, he shot about 12 corn cobs. On his first try, he aimed and shot one of the targets. He won himself a free sucker! We didn't make it into the maze, but we enjoyed all of the other activities. We then were pretty hungry. We had kettle corn, but all of us were craving Outback! We had to be done before the Tech game, of course! We, or mostly Mommy, have now said that we've gone to the cornfield maze.

Halloween 2008

This year Dylan wanted to go as Batman. I was really surprised because I really didn't know that he knew who Batman was. On the Saturday before Halloween, our town celebrated Halloween and had the annual Fall Festival and Trick or Treating downtown. Dylan had a blast! This year was so much better than last year! He followed his friend Maddy around and wanted to trick or treat just like her. He never wanted to take his costume off....which is totally different than last year! He had a blast playing the games at the Fall Festival and walked around and kept telling everyone, "I'm Batman!" He was absolutely the most adorable Batman you've ever seen!

Dylan's 1st Jack-o-Lantern

Dylan and Daddy made a jack-o-lantern while mommy was at a woman's retreat! Dylan watched one of his favorite shows, Imagination Movers, on the Disney Channel, and told his Daddy that he wanted to make a "punkin", as Dylan calls it. So, Todd called his friend looking for some pumpkins and they found 2. Of course, Dylan got bored after about 10 minutes but Daddy did finish and I thought it looked very good! Dylan looks pretty proud of his "punkin" as you can see from the photo!

Well, the sonogram definitely confirmed that our little baby is a boy! I was very surprised. The doctor said the baby looks very healthy so praise God! Dylan is really excited about having a baby brother! I think they will have more fun together! I will have another sonogram on December 17th. The baby's profile looks so much like Dylan's!

Potty Training

I am proud to report that Dylan has stayed dry throughout the day for 2 straight days at Ms. Keri's. This has been our last hurdle to conquer so we've really started to get serious with it. I feel like I'm potty training a puppy all over again! As you can see from the photo, he got to wear his fire engine underwear all day today. His daddy would die if he knew I posted a picture of his son in his underwear. Also, when you get desperate for anything in order to get them potty training, you'll bribe them with anything. The bribery this week is a trip to Chucky Cheese. It's working!! We've bribed him with candy, toys, more candy....and none of that has worked. He's doing great though. I'm so ready to stop buying diapers and changing them!
